Frequently asked questions

Is this photo editor really private?

Yes. The image is loaded from your device, edited on a canvas, and re-encoded in your browser. Nothing is uploaded to ImgSprint or any third party, so it works offline once the page has loaded.

What does Auto enhance actually do?

It reads the luminance histogram, clips the darkest and brightest one percent, and stretches the remaining range to use the full 0–255 scale. It then applies a light unsharp-mask pass. It is a classic levels-and-sharpen routine, not an AI model, and it never invents detail that is not in the pixels.

Can I combine a filter preset with the sliders?

Yes. Your slider adjustments are rendered first, then the selected preset is applied on top of the adjusted pixels. Choose the Original preset to see the sliders on their own. Auto enhance replaces the base image, and any adjustments or presets you pick afterwards build on that.

Which export format should I choose?

Use JPG for the widest compatibility and the smallest files for photos. Choose PNG for lossless output or exact transparency, and WebP or AVIF for smaller files at similar quality when your browser can encode them. Quality only affects the lossy formats.

Will editing lower the quality of my photo?

Adjustments redraw the image once at full resolution, so the pixels keep their original size. However, exporting to a lossy format re-encodes them according to the quality slider. Keep the setting high for important photos and always retain your original.

What happens to transparent areas?

PNG, WebP, and AVIF can store transparency, so transparent pixels stay transparent in those formats. JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent areas are flattened onto white to avoid the usual black boxes.

Can I undo my changes?

Press Reset to return every slider, the filter preset, the rotation, and the flip to their defaults, which clears the auto-enhance pass as well. Reloading another photo starts fresh.
