How to use enhance image

  1. 1

    Add a photo

Drop an image or click to browse. The original appears on the left for comparison.

  2. 2

    Press Auto enhance

The tool stretches the tonal range and sharpens slightly, then shows the result beside the original.

  3. 3

    Fine-tune if you want

Trim brightness, contrast, saturation, and sharpness with the sliders while watching both previews.

  4. 4

    Set the format and download

Pick JPG, PNG, WebP, or AVIF, choose a quality level, and save the enhanced image.

What you can do

One-tap auto enhance

A luminance histogram stretch recovers contrast from flat or hazy photos, followed by a light sharpen.

Manual fine-tuning

After auto enhancing, nudge brightness, contrast, saturation, and sharpness to taste.

Before-and-after view

See the original and enhanced versions side by side so nothing is applied blindly.

Private by default

Everything runs on the Canvas API in your browser. Your photo is never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

What does auto enhance do to my photo?

It measures the brightness histogram, ignores the darkest and brightest one percent of pixels, and stretches the remaining range to fill 0–255. That simple levels adjustment restores contrast in flat or hazy shots. A light unsharp-mask pass then adds crispness. It is deterministic image processing, not an AI model, so it will not invent detail.

Why does it report a contrast stretch percentage?

The figure is how much the tonal range was expanded. A photo that already uses the full range reports around 0%, meaning there was little to stretch. A washed-out photo might report a much larger number because the range was compressed before enhancing.

Can I enhance a photo several times?

Auto enhance replaces the working image, so pressing it twice enhances the already-enhanced result. If the second pass looks too strong, press Reset and start again rather than stacking it. The manual sliders always build on the current working image.

Will enhancing reduce image quality?

The operations redraw the image once at full resolution, so the pixel dimensions are unchanged. Exporting to a lossy format re-encodes the pixels according to the quality slider, so keep it high for important photos and retain the original file.

Does this work on blurry photos?

Auto enhance improves contrast and adds mild sharpening, which can make a slightly soft photo look cleaner. It cannot recover detail that was never captured, so a genuinely out-of-focus photo will stay out of focus. Use the Upscale Image tool if you need larger dimensions rather than clarity.

What happens to transparent areas?

PNG, WebP, and AVIF preserve transparency. JPG has no alpha channel, so transparent pixels are flattened onto white before encoding to avoid black boxes.

Is my image uploaded at any point?

No. The file is decoded, processed, and re-encoded entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to ImgSprint or any third party.
